Maria Meyers is a dynamic leader and a cornerstone of the Grenadian diaspora in Canada. As the President of the Grenada Day Cultural Association (GDCA) and the Spice Island Association, Maria has dedicated years to fostering unity and celebrating heritage. In this episode, she joins Carlene Humphrey to discuss the evolution of the Grenada Day Festival in Toronto—now in its 18th year—and its recent move to a larger venue at Pioneer Village to accommodate thousands of patrons. Maria also shares her personal journey, from her Grenadian and Venezuelan roots to receiving a Certificate for Exemplary Service to Canada.
Grenada Day Toronto has been in existence for over 18 years now! 2026 is going to be great! I hope you can make it! This year Grenada Day will take place on August 1! I hope to see you there!
